2. Why was Jesus comfortable approaching the law the way he did?
3. Discuss the following scriptures:
Mark 2:27: Then Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people, and not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath. 28 So the Son of Man is Lord, even over the Sabbath!” and
Mark 3:4: “Does the law permit good deeds on the Sabbath or is it a day for doing evil? Is this a day to save life or to destroy it?”
4. Jesus was deeply saddened by the hard hearts of the Pharisees. What does it mean to have a hard heart? How might a person’s heart become hard? If you were to find yourself with a hard heart, what might make the heart soft again?
