December 2019 Newsletter

Hi everyone!  I hope you’re all ready for Christmas!  I am actually heading back to Indianapolis for a few days to see my family.  I am getting over a stomach flu which hasn’t been much fun, but I think I will be ready to fly home next week.  I wanted to give you a quick update on where we’re at before the end of the year.

501(c)(3) Granted!
Our first big news is that our official 501(c)(3) non-profit organization status has been granted.  Woohoo!!! It took about 5 months, but we are now an official 501(c)(3) organization.

Thanksgiving Outreach Meals:
On Thanksgiving Day, our team took meals to over 30 workers at gas stations and breweries who had to work on the holiday.  It was a good way for us to reach out to others in our area. We also took meals to the workers at Augustino Brewing, where we’ll be holding our regular Church In A Brewery meetings.  Below is a picture of what we took to Augustino Brewing:

You’ll probably notice there are two containers of meat.  I decided to smoke a turkey on my grill and had never cooked a turkey before, so I also smoked some pulled pork in case I messed up the turkey!  Both turned out well though!

Heath cooked the meals for the gas stations.  Below are some photos of one of the 3 turkeys he smoked on his grill and the sides packaged up before we delivered them.  It was a lot of food!

Pastor’s Luncheon Recap
On December 10th, Jason and I were invited to a local American Baptist Church luncheon to share our vision for the brewery church.  This was our first group presentation and was a good opportunity for us to share our vision and get some feedback. One of our major goals has been to partner with other churches, and the luncheon was a good step in that direction.  We are planning to return to the luncheon for a follow-up in 6 months.

Vision Dinner:
For those of you in Wichita, we’re planning to host a Vision Dinner in early February.  The dinner will be for those who are interested in learning more about what we’re doing, partnering with us or supporting in some way.  It’s a way for us to say thank you and also share our plan for 2020.

Podcast Episode 3 is up!
Podcast Episode 3 was released last week.  We took on a tough topic; The Virgin Conception.  It’s definitely one of the harder ones to explain to someone new to the Bible, but it seemed like a good topic for the Christmas season.  The podcast has been good practice for us.  We actually listen through it after we record to learn how to better explain things to people who have never wrestled through these questions before.

Thank you all so much for your support and encouragement over the past few months.  We have made so much progress towards our goal in 2019 and it wouldn’t have happened without you.  Starting in January, things will really pick up for us and we’re looking forward to 2020. We have some major developments in the works and we’re excited to share more details about them with you in January.  Merry Christmas and talk to you soon!

Sincerely,

Nathan
